Experience report of the Simulation Club Osvaldo Aranha (CSOA)
Abstract
Created by International Relations students of the Federal University of Uberlandia (UFU) in 2014, CSOA was born with a mission to promote diplomatic simulations at the university, and, nowadays, diversified it’s areas of action being one of the most relevant pillars of the course. In the presente paper, authors wish to demonstrate the way that the institution dealed with the obstacles emerged by the pandemic of COVID-19 in 2021 and implemented new activities. For that matter, the paper approach to the main area of action of CSOA and the innovations implemented at the simulations beyond the remodelation of the UFUMUN, annual event with national approach that unites students interested in simulations. Furthermore, we display the creation of two new projects created in 2021 which has had positive reception by the organization and participants. The “Colloquium about politics, security and internacional organizations” was organized by semester and involved speakers from different universities of Brasil and outside. The minicourse for high school students received the support of Catédra Sérgio Vieira de Mello and was promoted in the second semester of 2021. Finally, the text pretends to expose the diversity of alternatives for outreach projects to keep being useful to the external Community and inspiring people and intitutions to promote the cientific knowledge and the plurality of ideas.
