Abstract

Nuclear weapons are a recurring concern for global security and international cooperation. Despite multilateral treaties and agreements to control and combat these weapons, states continue to develop new technologies and increase their warheads. In view of this, it is important to research how International Constitutional Law interprets the illegality of atomic bombs, in order to find out if there is normative force related to global practice and to understand some factors that encourage the maintenance and development of nuclear weapons, from the perspective of International Political Economy - IPE, using empirical-qualitative methodology for the analysis of numerical, theoretical and documentary data, as well as the case study of the Marshall Islands.
